Palo Alto Networks Researcher Claud Xiao recently discovered a new family of Apple OS X and iOS malware with characteristics unseen in any previously documented threats targeting Apple’s popular desktop and mobile platforms. Aptly named “WireLurker,” this malware family can infect even non-jailbroken iOS devices through trojanized and repackaged OS X applications, and is the first known malware family that can infect installed iOS applications similar to how a traditional virus would.
